About the Race

Come join us for a 95% single track 5% dirt road trail race alongside the beautiful Folsom Lake. Located just outside of the Sacramento, this race is primarily run on the Southside Trail. All very appealing single track, great running, and some technical sections alongside gentle rolling hills in El Dorado county. The trail parallels Folsom Lake, oak trees, lush green grass, nice scenery, views of Folsom Lake, the surrounding foothills, and the snowcapped Sierra Mountains.

This Half Marathon race starts at Folsom Point parking lot and will finish about 0.6 miles from Falcon Crest parking.

Volunteers are needed to help with aid stations.

  • Active military & first responders receive a 15% discount. Please e-mail to process your registration discount.
  • Entry fees are non-refundable, but the full registration amount (minus processing fees) may be transferred to another future TCT Run by contacting at least 24 hours before the scheduled event.
  • Runners may purchase a Troy’s California Trail Runs sport-tek technical fabric shirt during the registration process, or at the event supply permitting.  All shirts are gender-specific and come in sizes ranging from ladies XS all the way to mens XXL and youth S to XL.
Online registration is available through the evening before the race.
Please print the form, fill it out, and mail it to us with the enclosed registration fee.
Race day registration is available beginning at 7:00 AM.

Please arrive early as we expect a full event.

Course Information & Maps

Toilets are available at the start/finish line. They are first-come first-served, so please be respectful of other runners waiting for and needing to use the toilets. Toilets also available at some aid stations.

The course is Point to Point.

Courses will be marked with single solid PINK color ribbons tied to clothespins, ORANGE cones, signs & gypsum. Yellow Ribbons highlight turn off up into New York Creek Aid Station.

Half Marathon (12:30pm overall cutoff, 4.5 Hour Time Limit)

  • Course Ascent: 1505 ft
  • Race Bibs: Runners will have red-numbered bibs on a white background.
  • Course Markings:
    • Follow pink ribbons.
    • Signs on 3ft wooden stakes indicating Distance & Direction Arrows. Gypsum (White powder) on the ground indicating Distance and Direction Arrows.
    • Yellow Ribbons highlight turn off up into New York Creek Aid Station
  • Aid/Water Available
    • Folsom Point Parking Lot Start (Mile 0.0, 8:00am, Toilet Available)
    • Aid Station 1: Browns Ravine Aid Station (Approx. Mile 3.5 – Toilet Nearby, Cutoff 9:00am)
    • Aid Station 2: Planeta Way Aid Station (Approx. Mile 6.5, Cutoff 10:00am)
    • Water Station 1: New York Creek (Approx. Mile 10.5)
    • Finish Line is a the Trail Intersection of Browns Ravine & Monta Vista Trail South (Approx. Mile 13.2, 12:30pm noon cut off, Toilet Available).

Directions and Parking

  • Here is a Google map showing the Start. Ignore the street address. This address is for someone Google chose because they are the closest street address to the parking lot. You can use the google map to get driving directions directly to the parking lot.
  • From highway 50, get off E. Bidwell exit, turn left at end of the ramp
  • Turn right on Oak Ave Parkway
  • Turn right on Blue Ravine
  • Turn left on E. Natomas
  • Turn left on Briggs Ranch Dr.
  • Turn right into park entrance
  • After entering the park, turn right at the fork and drive all the way to the end….look for restrooms on the right.
  • The entrance to the park is at the corner of East Natoma and Briggs. There is a church on the corner. Please do not bother with the church by asking for directions. They don’t actually know about our event. The Start/Finish is Folsom Point/Dyke 8 off of East Notama in Folsom CA.
  • Parking: Ample parking at the boat ramp. Cost: $12.00 for day use.

Shuttles from the Finish Line back to the Start Line

We will be shuttling runners from Falcon Crest parking lot (approx. 0.6 miles from the Finish line) back to the Folsom Point entrance parking lot from 11 am – 1 pm. We will mark with YELLOW RIBBONS leading the runners up to the Falcon Crest parking lot for Refreshments & busing back to Folsom Point.

ATTENTION This event is a Point to Point event & will Require busing runners after finishing the race from Falcon Crest parking lot back to the Folsom Point parking lot. 

ATTENTION Runners there is limited parking at Falcon Crest. You can catch the bus back to the Start after the race to get to your vehicle or you may get a ride home from a spectator/crew member/family/friend after the race.

Transportation after the event is approximately 15-20 minutes.
