Kirkwood Mountain Ultra Challenge

August 7th, 2021

ALERT: TAMARACK FIRE - (UPDATED 07/26/21 AT 12:30 PM)
TCT Runs staff is closely monitoring air quality on our Kirkwood’s Mountain Ultras course. We are watching local news and following guidance from regional health and safety officials for updates regarding the nearby Tamarack Fire.

At this point we will continue to do everything possible to fulfill our obligation to put this event on as scheduled.

The current air quality on the Course is unhealthy for us to start marking the course as scheduled. If, and as soon as, the air quality becomes healthy we will immediately start marking the course and see how that evolves.

Please continue to check this race page for our latest updates. We will be contacting registered runners directly via e-mail as the situation evolves, and will provide another update on the status by next Monday, August 2.

Rising above the shore of Lake Tahoe, these ultra races follow trails that are rarely traveled by the weekender and are what many would describe as diamonds in the rough.

20 years in the making, Troy’s California Trail Runs presents the Kirkwood Ultra Challenge. Join us for over 20,000 feet of altitude gain nestled within the peaks of the High Sierra and among the wilderness of the El Dorado forests.

These races are comparable to the Western States 100 and many others of that caliber. Be ready and see you in August!
